The campaign for assisting children and the elderly to cross roads at
pedestrian zones safely in 9 crowded areas south of the capital will
take place in Osh city on December 5. This was reported by the
organizers.
According to them, the campaign is initiated in honor of celebration of the International Day of Volunteers, established by the UN General Assembly in 1995. The campaign will mobilize over 100 young participants from Osh residents willing to contribute to safety of pedestrians. Volunteers during rush hour (12.00-13.00 p.m.) at pedestrian areas will help students of the nearest schools, pensioners and other citizens to cross the road. The initiative was supported by the leadership of Osh Road Patrol Service and will be implemented with assistance of traffic police service.
